Marimekko
Marimekko was founded in 1951 in Helsinki, Finland by Armi and Viljo Ratia. They recruited the most innovative and daring textile designers of the time to form an identity around Marimekko that clearly reflected the spirit of modern Finnish design.
Marimekko had a vision of "total design" and joyful, uncomplicated living. This still means today bold and colourful textiles, casual clothes in simple cuts and distinctive patterns that are instantly recognizable as Marimekko. The collection includes a wide range of printed fabrics, cotton drill bags, dresses and blouses, striped fitted t-shirts, bed linen, bathroom, home, office and kitchen accessories.
